This is an exceptional specimen of this particular model, is 100% Original and in Excellent ++ Condition. The nicest one I have ever seen. The images speak for themselves, but still don’t do this beauty justice. Vintage Gibson ES-125 C Archtop

Details: Gibson ES-125 C - Rare single pickup, full-body cutaway Super-sweet jazz, blues, and rockabilly tones!   Up for bid is a 1960s Gibson ES-125 C archtop guitar. This is a wonderful guitar for jazz, blues or even rockabilly. The single original P-90 pickup and full body size provide that unmistakable vintage Gibson sound. From what I’ve learned, Gibson produced relatively few copies of this model compared to other versions of the ES-125. While it is relatively easy to find thin-bodied, double pickup, no cutaway versions, it is more difficult to find this full-bodied single-pickup version with a cutaway. I’m not sure why, because to me this seems like the best combination of features for jazz and blues. The cutaway gives you access to the upper frets, the single pickup allows the top to resonate more than the twin-pickup version, and the full body delivers a rich, deep tone. One vintage guitar website says Gibson only produced 400 or so of this version, but I can’t confirm that.I believe it is a 1966, but the confusion with Gibson serial numbers of that era makes it hard for me to be certain. Serial number is 809017 for those of you who may be better at determining its age. It comes with a beautiful TKL vintage tweed case. This is not the case that Gibson shipped with the guitar, but it really should have been because the two look great together. The case is solid, all latches work, the interior is clean and tear-free, and the outside has just enough wear to provide character. Think of it as lightly reliced…Everything on the guitar is original with the exception of the tuners, which are newer Schallers installed by a previous owner. They look and function much better than the originals. If you want to return to the correct tuners, I am including a set of originals that came from a ‘65 ES-125. I do not have the pickguard, but those can be found here on eBay if you’re patient, or you can have one made at PickGuardian, etc.As you can see from the photos, this guitar is not a museum piece, but it is in good to very good condition. It simply looks like it should after 40+ years of playing. There are a few dings here and there, but nothing serious. The finish has some checking as you might expect, but I think this adds to the character and provides a vintage look. A bit of the lacquer has chipped off at the neck/body joint, but this is not uncommon for these guitars.You will see in one of the pictures that there is a shallow crack in the back of the headstock which I have since had professionally repaired. The crack is on the back only and does not go all the way through the headstock. It is now rock solid after the repair. Magnatone Amp 115 12″ Jensen Speaker all Tube Vintage

Details: This is a Magnatone Amp model number 115 and it is called the Lyric High Fidelity Amplifier. From looking up the model name it was made between 1955-59 in Inglewood California. The 12″ Jensen speaker is perfect. I can’t believe how clean this sounds for being 50 years old. I have had this at my house (man-cave) for a number of years. It was recently gone through by “TopGear” in El Cajon. This baby is ready to go! Here is some tech stuff: It has two 12AX7 tubes for the preamp and gain stages, and another 12AX7 for the phase inverter. Twin 6V6 tubes (all stock and original) supply the power for the amp. It uses a 5Y3 for the Hvdc rectifier. A model 12 remote speaker out connection is also there. It is about 18 watts. I have to save, this is one of the few small amps that I have played that really sounds good a full volume. The Jensen speaker is just great! Also the leather handle is original and in amazingly perfect condition.
