Details: This is a National lap steel guitar with a solid wood body. It is 32 long and 7″ at the widest point. I don’t know anything about steel guitars so googled this and the best I could identify that it looks like is the Chicagoan. It has its steel slide and a pick along with a cord for hooking into an amp. I can’t play so have no idea what it sounds like. This is an as is auction. The National tag is the only identification on the guitar. I cannot find any identifying numbers, back or front. It is inlaid with mother-of-pearl down the neck of the guitar. It has 6 steel strings. Details: Magnatone Troubadour 213 Guitar Amp, Vintage 1957, 112 combo, approx. 18 pure tube watts, with foot switch (not sure if foot switch is original Maggie, definitely vintage). Some minor dings are visible in a couple of corners, the leather handle has some cracks but feels solid, there are some scratches on the metal control panel, particularly at the input jacks. Chassis and cabinet are solid, nothing loose or broken, four feet are in place, all parts appear to be original. Power cord updated to grounded 3-prong.She is in excellent condition, especially considering she is 57 years old, and sounds even better. Almost dead quiet at idle, strong, loud and clean until about 75 % or 80% of maximum loudness and then it starts that warm tube breakup. You don’t need pedals, but she loves pedals. Everything works perfectly, including the legendary Magnatone Vibrato. If you have never heard a vintage “Maggie” please check the reviews of this Model 213 on the web. This particular model has been long regarded as one of the best tone machines available. It already sounded great with absolutely no issues, but because I am selling it I just sent it to an amp tech for a going through. He thoroughly tested it and cleaned all jacks, pots, and tube sockets, installed new output tubes, burned them in and bias checked.I play Fenders and Gibsons through this. It brings out the best in anything. I have not owned her nearly long enough and hate to part, but I have to for now. Please check my other listings for other vintage gear as I am forced to move a few things along.
